Approximately one in three US adults, 40 years of age and older report symptoms of Over Active Bladder (OAB).

I would guess that this number is higher based on the fact that, 1, men will not typically present to the Doctor, and 2, if they do go to the doctor, they will report limited symptoms. Due to being embarrassed.

Urges and leakage can happen when communication between the brain and the bladder is not working at 100%.
It is these breakdowns in communication that we work to restore in our office.

There are three basic symptoms with (OAB). 

Urgency, Frequency, and Leakage.

As for Treatment options: Medically there are a few medications that will reduce the urine output. (with side effects).

 They can inject Botox, (a Toxin, to paralyze the muscle). 

You can also have nerve stimulation (electric shock) done to the bladder muscle.

Or you can seek non-invasive care that restores the communication between the brain and the bladder and let your body heal.

According to a study by K.E. Hartmann etal., No drug really stands out, where Over Active Bladder Symptoms are concerned. The medications may reduce the symptoms somewhat while adding additional unwanted side effects.
